ABOUT
Anaïs Godard is a Franco-American speculative fiction writer and winner of the 2025 Mike Resnick Memorial Award for her short story Elsewhere. Her work has appeared in McSweeney’s, Fractured Lit, Hobart, Creation Magazine, and elsewhere. Her essay “How to Cremate Your Pet Squirrel” won the Letter Review Prize and was nominated for Best of the Net, while her open letter to Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was among McSweeney’s most-read pieces of 2025.
Trained in linguistics and semiotics at La Sorbonne, Godard writes at the intersections of language, power, memory, and agency, often through a feminist and speculative lens. She is a Tin House Workshop alumna and an Idyllwild Arts Fiction Fellow, and contributes criticism and interviews to CALYX Press.
